The study will include, among others, interrelationships between the
different types of pathologies which contribute to cognitive decline and
dementia, brain glucose and energy metabolism in sporadic Alzheimer,
genetics of Alzheimer disease, behavioral changes during aging, cell cycle
regulation in aging, estrogens and aging, reproductive aging in men,
transgenic animals as models for degenerative diseases, circadian
disturbances in the elderly, aging and hypothalamic control of episodic
release of pituitary hormones, nutraceutical formulations which slow aging
and treat age-related diseases , caloric restriction and demography of
longevity.
